RIHANNA AND MAROON 5 COLLABORATE ON REMIX
In an inspired pairing, Rihanna has teamed up with Maroon 5 on a remix of the band's track "If I Never See Your Face Again." The song was the lead single from their hit 2007 set It Won't Be Soon Before Long, and will now be included on both its June re-release as well as the re-release of Rihanna's platinum-plus Good Girl Gone Bad, according to Billboard.com.
"Maroon 5 is a big fan of Rihanna," said A&M/Octone president James Diener. "They have seen her at shows, their paths have crossed and they are buddies. Adam (Levine) thought it would be amazing to make the song into a 'battle of the sexes'-style duet, and she was the first person they thought of."
An ultra-glamorous video of the track was filmed on Wednesday (April 25th).
The track will be available on iTunes the first week of May, and serviced to radio the following week.
MINDY McCREADY CONFIRMS AFFAIR WITH ROGER CLEMENS
Mindy McCready told the New York Daily News that she, in fact, did have a long affair with baseball star Roger Clemens. The singer had a decade-long relationship with Clemens which began when she was 15 years old, however McCready said things did not turn intimate until she moved to Nashville and became a country singer.
Clemens is currently in the midst of a defamation lawsuit against his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, who claims that Clemens used performance-enhancing substances during his major league career. McNamee's attorney told the Daily News that if the lawsuit heads to trial, they will call McCready as a witness.
Clemens reportedly sent cash to McCready to help her with legal issues and made contact with her when she was in jail last year in Tennessee on probation violation. Clemens sometimes sent her amounts of $25,000, the paper reported.
McCready said, "I cannot refute anything in the story."
